Monthly Archive

I am really enjoying this month - with the decorations and festivities. I hope you are as well.
Bob and I will be taking the last two weeks of the year as vacation and we are really looking forward to it. I hope you will have some time to recharge your body and spirit as well.

Our entire society is built on credit. The check that your client writes to you is probably one of the few checks they write each month. When you accept credit cards you are looked upon as a more credible business. Plus people tend to attend therapy more often or be willing to pay your fees if they know they can put it on their credit card.
I am excited to share a new resource with you - a way to take credit cards easily and produce client statements with one touch of a button. No swipe machines to buy either. Join us for this free call on January 18th at 4:00 pm pacific.
You can register to be on the call live or sign up for the recording at

My friend Chellie Campbell wrote two fabulous books - “The Wealthy Spirit” and “From Zero to Zillionaire.” She has a story that I really wanted you to read:
Here is Chellie’s story: (excerpted from “From Zero to Zillionaire.”)
One year, my friend Victoria invited me to her New Year’s day party. She introduced me to a woman who was enjoying reading my book.
“You have to meet George!” she told me. “He has your book and he has been faithfully reading it. He would love to meet you.”
It is always fun to talk to a a fan - so I set off in search of George. I didn’t know what he looked like, and there were a lot of men at the party, so I waltzed up to the first man I saw and said “Hi! Are you George?”
The man shook his head and said “No, I am not. Why are you looking for George?”
“Someone told me that he was a fan of my book and wanted to meet me,” I replied.
“Oh, really? You are an author? What book did you write?” the man asked.
“It is called “The Wealthy Spirit..” and all of a sudden I am networking and telling this man all about who I am and what I do.
After a pleasant conversation, exchange of contact numbers and information, I continued my search for George with the next man I saw.
“Excuse me, are you George?” I smiled sweetly.
“Nope. Who’s George?…” More networking.
“I am looking for George. Are you George?” “No. Why are you looking for George?…”
I was getting giddy. This was the best pickup line I’d ever used. This same conversation happened over and over. I’d met every man at the party before I found George. I decided I might use it at every party I go to.
————————–
You can use it, too. Invent an imaginary George, and use it as an excuse to talk to anyone you want. Any event can turn into a networking opportunity.
I just love that story. Maybe you’d like to try it this holiday season. Ask someone at the party “Excuse me, are you Hannah?
I hear that Hannah wants to hear about what I do for a living.” Imagine the conversations you could have!
May you enjoy the rest of the year and enter 2007 rejuvenated.
Much love and many blessing for your success,

I Hope you are enjoying some nice holiday weather. Bob and I spent Thanksgiving in Arizona and the temperature was in the 30s. Bob loved it. I am used to sunny southern California weather so it was a bit chilly for me.

As many of you know, Bob and I really enjoy decorating for the holidays. We’d like to invite you to an open house at our home on Saturday Dec. 16th from 4 to 7 p.m.
We will have some appetizers and baked treats and we can get to see each other in person.
If you’d like to join us, have some eggnog and see the decorations, please RSVP to Amber at Amber@BeAWealthyTherapist.com. She will send you the address and directions.

In the U.S., the day after Thanksgiving is known as “Black Friday” because traditionally it is seen as the day most retailers go into the “black” and start earning a profit for the year.
Think about it. Most retailers don’t start making a profit until the day after Thanksgiving! Most of their sales are done in the last 5 or 6 weeks of the year.
Because most therapists have very little overhead compared to retail stores, we can make a profit every month!
If you aren’t seeing a profit each month, here are some things to think about:
1) How comfortable do you feel about your fee? Can you state it with confidence or does it feel uncomfortable?
2) Do you know how many sessions you need to do a month in order to pay your bills - including your irregular expense such as malpractice insurance and retirement savings? When you know this number, you can build your marketing plan with very specific goals.
3) Do you take credit cards? Most therapists I know increased their income significantly once they started taking credit cards. I have a super new resource for easy and inexpensive credit card processing. You don’t need to pay for a swipe machine! It is so cool - you can even create an online statement for you clients and email it to them if you like! (If you are interested in learning more about this service, contact me at CreditCards@BeAWealthyTherapist.com and I will send you the information.)
4) Do you save money throughout the year to accommodate the “lulls” in your practice? I recommend that you save some money each month specifically for this. In my experience, there will be at least 8 weeks of the year when you are either taking classes, ill, on vacation or have a number of unplanned cancellations. At least a few of these weeks will usually be around the holidays.
5) Do you have a marketing plan in place so you know what to do and when to do it in order to get new clients?
If the holiday season slows down for you, take some time with these points and begin to plan for next year.
Next year, Black Friday can be a time that you rejoice because not only have you been making money (”in the black”) all year, it can also be a time for you to relax, rejuvenate and “enjoy the lull.”

Want to have some fun working on those old issues with money? Want to learn the scripts that have helped hundreds of therapists earn more money when discussing fees with clients? We are now releasing an audio that I recorded prior to a workshop I did earlier in the year. Until now, only Exclusive Members and those attending the workshop were able to listen to this audio. But now you can purchase the audio (MP3) download for only $27. Read more at http://www.beawealthytherapist.com/money.html
Note: Exclusive Members can listen to this recording and 30 other practice building audio recordings for free in the audio library at http://www.buildyourtherapypractice.com
Again, if you can join us for the Holiday Open House, Bob and I would love to see you!

Love and joy!
