What book is on your beach towel this summer?

I am reading some great books this summer. I am really enjoying the classic “The Grapes of Wrath” by John Steinbeck. I have a few pages to go and I simply don’t want to finish it. Last summer I read “East of Eden” and totally loved it.

I love mysteries so Lee Child is a fav of mine. Currently I am reading “Nothing to Lose.” His hero, Jack Reacher is a unique character who always gets out of the most impossible scrapes.

Jill Bolte Taylor is a brain scientist who shares her journey from professor to stroke survivor and back. It is a very interesting story - especially for those who have loved ones who’ve had strokes.

“Harmonic Wealth” by James Arthur Ray is a fun book for those interested in Law of Attraction.

That is it for now. What are you enjoying?

  1. Hi Casey…
    I’ll jump in..
I’ve just re-read The Four Agreements by Don Miguel Ruiz. I find it so elegant and simple in terms of focusing in on what matters most.

After my trip to Kauai, I picked up a copy of The Colony which is a historical account of the epidemic of leprosy on the islands and the stories of those who were exiled to Molokai. Reading about the people who fought back and resisted was very inspiring to me.

Currently, I am reading the newly published book-The Transgender Child by Stephanie Brill. Its the only clinical book on the subject and very informative in terms of best practices for families who have kids who are gender variant.

Finally-I always enjoy the current issue of the magazine The Sun. Well written stories, poems and beautiful photos-and best of all - no ads! Check it out.
    Have a great summer!

  2. I was really enjoying Charles Stross’ Accelerando it deals with some very interesting concepts dealing with the accelerating rate of technology and the impact it has on both society and individuals.
